Stone Masonry That Is Considered Art.
I have spent the past 15 years pushing my creative stone abilities to the max. Hundreds of stacked stone, patio and walkway, and water feature projects have given me over 10,000 hours of experience setting stone. I even did 700 square feet of travertine tile at my house.
Couple that experience with the strong landscaping background I've earned, and you have the potential for something quite special to be created.
I also have spent the past 22 years in deep study of human potential. How to create your perfect life, how to think how to find your calling, how to be happy, how to think positive, find your God given destiny, along with a bunch of business, marketing and technology type books have caught my attention over the years. There are several hundred books on my book shelves. What does this have to do with stone as art?
A lot when you consider the brain is like a muscle that when worked out regularly will become stronger, thus more creative. There are plenty of books, and systems out there that teach creative visualization. "You must first see your end goals". Dr.. Maxwell Maltz's, "Psycho-Cybernetics", teaches to create, "a movie in your mind". Visualization is a trained technique. The more you practice, the better your vision becomes.
So in that respect, all of my experience has given me an almost, "auto-pilot", approach to creating stone projects. i don't have to think at all about the technicalities, they just take care of themselves. This gives me room in my, "pea brain", to push my creativity to the max. Like the Japanese word, "kaizen - a Japanese business philosophy of continuous improvement of working practices, personal efficiency, etc.", with each job, I am trying to do better than the one before it.
At 40, I feel like I'm just getting started. Nothing inspires me more than an excited client that wants to use me as their, "puppet", to accomplish their vision of some abstract stone whatever it may be that they have full faith in my abilities to create.
It whether it is a moon gate, mosaic, archway, water feature, fire feature, sphere, cairn, or whatever, we can do it. I have a vast network in the social media world that allows me to pick the brain of other artisans, making the possibilities as to what I can do virtually limitless.
Go ahead. Try and stump me. Try to make me think. Try getting me to push my art form further. I dare you!!!
I look forward to working with you.
(Quick easy version of the above: After much thought, study, and practice, I have figured out not only what I love doing, but that it's what I excel at.)
